GOGi 1055 Korean BBQ Reviews
Just so you are aware I am Korean and I live in Los Angeles... so, I hope this review provides helpful insight to everyone who is reading it. There are a few factors in evaluating Korean BBQ. 1. Quality of the mean - meat has to be good quality 2. Quality of cooking device - good cooking top w/ good ventilation 3. Side dishes (barchan) - variety and quality 4. Service - attentiveness of the server and their know how's in K-bbq 5. Ambience - comfortable seating and not too noisy (background music) 6. Price point - $ for the value the meat quality was legit good... better then some other Korean joints in Los Angeles (K-town). The cooking device is good (certain joints in K-town brings out different grills for different meat, but what they offer is good enough to get the job done) and ventilation/exhaust tied to the side of the grill is very good. Side dishes are not amazing, but good enough for what you are doing. they bring the steamed egg dish and cheese corn. LA restaurants gives you an option of either soy/miso stew or kimchi stew. Service is good, but the servers could learn more about switching the grills and actually help with the grill (as LA restaurants servers do nowadays) Ambience is good (although my preference is no K-pop music... because it could get distracting) my overall experience legit good Korean BBQ experience that I did not expect in Louisville, KY. Gogi 1055~ you've done well in serving Louisville community with some legit K-bbq! hope this rec is helpful to all those that are wondering about trying this joint.
So so I went to Gogi 1055 for my birthday with my family and had the best time ever it was our first time going the pictures that posting because I forgot to make this post when I did it. Well I did, but it didn't post, so I'm going to make this. so when we got there, we were greeted with smiles and shown to our table , and the server was super super nice and explained the menu to us and how we could order things and actually cook food that night. However, we have been back several times since then because this is my favorite Korean place for family events in Louisville. I suggest making reservations if you have a large group because it fills up very quickly at the ambience is amazing and you won't be disappointed..
GOGi 1055 has been one of those places that's been on my list for a long time... and boy, was it worth the wait! My husband and I came here for a date night and it was the perfect place to do so. I love how modern and elegant the inside is, with gigantic tables to make room for all the delicious food you are about to consume. We came specifically for the bbq. They had different 'bundles' on the menu that came with a variety of things, which was perfect for people like us who weren't really sure what or how to order. Everything was fantastic, and it was such a fun experience to get to try a bunch of new things! Our waiter was also very friendly, explained everything well and was always around when we needed them. Overall, I'd recommend GOGi 1055 to anyone looking to try something different, or just to get some delicious Korean bbq!
I am ashamed that it has taken me this long to visit this restaurant. Let me tell you, 10-10-10 across the board! This place was AMAZING! The interior design is outstanding and the vibe is very chill and sophisticated. We had an amazing server that answered all of my questions and the food was *chef kiss*. I came on a week day shortly after they opened and was so impressed that I am sure I will be back many times. Here's a few #WorthyNotes: 1) Try the drinks. My drink was perfect and so delicious. 2) Cook the food yourself. It makes the experience more special and is fun to do with others. 3) Don't be afraid to try new things. I enjoyed all the sides and can't wait to come back to pick something different on the menu.
I have spent countless hours on YouTube, immersing myself in videos of authentic Korean BBQs (it's always been a dream of mine to travel to Korea, hence the immersion). That being said, I was blown away by our dinner at Gogi. It was everything I expected, and more as it was so authentic. Customer service was some of the best I've ever experienced. Our waitress was excellent and super knowledgeable, which was awesome because, well, I love learning :) The quality of the food was top-notch, as it was fresh and flavorful. Also, the ambiance was super chill and vibey; I left full and beaming. 10/10. I will definitely come back when I visit in the future.
